| Well, it was certainly busy last weekend with all teams in
Comp & Roo-Ball playing on both Saturday & Sunday. A big thank you
to everyone who played, coached & supported throughout the weekend.
Thanks also to the players who helped out the teams who were short. With ANZAC Day being this Saturday, all of our Comp teams (except then Over 35’s) will be playing on Sunday 26th. Our Roo-Ball teams will get the weekend off and our Over 35’s will be playing on Friday night as per usual. We hope that you all have a great weekend and take time out to remember the Diggers who served so that we may all have a better life. Stephen Bradbury |

| Outstanding Registration & Uniform Fees: Players who have outstanding registration & uniform payments will now have received notice of this. We ask that all outstanding payments be made to the match payments window at the club canteen by Sunday 26th April. |
|
| Behaviour of Players, Team Official & Spectators: | |
| Whilst the general behaviour of most people associated with
our club has been very good, Blacktown Association has asked that all clubs
remind everyone of the codes of conduct that we are expected to adhere to.
All players, parents, coaches, managers & club officials were given copies of codes of conduct at registration and were asked to sign these. Copies of our codes of conduct are available on our website if you would like to refresh you memory on what is expected of you. We ask that all of the people involved in our club adhere to these codes of conduct & help maintain the good reputation that our club has. |
|
| Wet Weather Arrangements: | |
| We have had quite a bit of rain over the last few weeks (we’re
already past our average April rain fall with over a week to go this month).
As a result of the rain, we have had to close either parts of the ground
or all of the ground. We ask that all teams please cooperate with the club
when we close the ground as this is done for player safety & to preserve
the ground. If it has been raining there are a few ways to see if the ground is open.

|
| Repairs to the Field: | |
| The rained off weekend of Saturday 4th / Sunday 5th April saw the committee & some willing helpers carry out some much needed maintenance work on our fields. We patched up some bare patches on both the Comp & Roo-Ball fields & filled some low-lying areas on the main field. In all, 20 tonnes of soil, 2 large bags of grass seed & 4 bags of fertiliser were spread around. Many thanks to the hardy few who toiled away to help improve our ground | |
| Club Gear: | |
| The club carries a range of club gear – every thing
from sweatbands to gear bags, polo shirts to polar fleece jackets & spray jackets. An order form for club gear will be shortly be available on our website & through the club canteen. |
|
| The Season Draw: The season draw is posted on the Blacktown Association web site & can be accessed through a link on the Minchinbury Jets Website (www.minchinburyjets.com). As the draw is subject to change it is strongly advised that you do not preprint the season draw but rather check it every week (probably Wednesday of Thursday) to ensure that you have the latest correct details. |

As the draw is subject to change it is strongly advised that you do not preprint the season draw but rather check it every week (probably Wednesday of Thursday) to ensure that you have the latest correct details. There have been occasions in previous years where matches have been rescheduled and players have missed matches because they have printed out copies of the draw that have been subsequently changed. | |
| Social Events & Fundraisers | |
| Photos: | |
| Team & player photos will be taken on Saturday 16th May, Sunday 17th May & Saturday 23rd May. We will be distributing information on the photo packs & the photo day rosters to teams over the next week. We ask that all players in all teams make the effort to be available on time for you team photos. Even if you do not wish to purchase photos, the other members of your team would like to have a photo of their whole team to remember the season by. | |
| Chocolate Drive: | |
| Chocolates will be distributed during the first week of May to all players who have elected to partake in fund raising this season. We will be distributing 1 box per family. We thank you in advance for your help in selling these chocolates. | |
| Club Website: | |
| For those of you with Internet access our club has our own website. This can be accessed through www.minchinburyjets.com. We will also be distributing weekly newsletters throughout the season to cover those without Internet access. | |

| Jets Vs Marconi Friendly Game: | |
| Minchinbury Jets received a call on late notice, to play a
friendly game against Marconi's U12/1 side at Marconi's home ground on Sunday
5th April. The U12/2 Jets and U13/2 Jets combined to form a make shift team
on short notice. Marconi started the game at a furious pace, coupled with an accurate passing game, which caught the Jets side by surprise. At half time Marconi lead 3 - 0. At the halftime break, the Jets side was asked by the coaches to pick up the pace of their game, get to the ball quicker and challenge for the ball. The second half saw the Jets performance go up a gear, the second half provided no more goals and became a much closer contest, but due to Marconi's powerful opening stanza in the first half they won the friendly 3 - 0. The Jets side was congratulated by the coaches and parents for the much improved effort in the second half. It was a great experience for the Jets to play against such a talented side at the awesome Marconi facility. |
