We hope that you have all enjoyed a relaxing off-season and are all ready to participate in another fun filled season of soccer. Following on from a very successful 2008, Minchinbury Jets hopes to continue to grow and help our members enjoy their soccer experience both on and off the field in 2009.
We ask that you please take time to read this newsletter to help familiarise yourself with our registration process for 2009 and to be aware of what’s happening with our club in 2009.

In order to help with your 2009 season registrations please note the following:

Registration Process:
Registration days will be held on the following Saturdays – 31st January, 6th February, 13th February and 20th February from 9:00am to 2:00pm. We will also be holding additional registration day on Thursday 4th and 11th February from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.

Our registration days will be held at Minchinbury Shopping Centre, Minchin Drive, Minchinbury.
Please note that the player will need to attend when registering, as we may need to update the player’s photograph when updating their registration details. All of this is done on computer at the time of registering

Registration fees are payable in full. Part payment will not be accepted. No player will be registered with the club until the fees have been paid and therefore are not insured against injury during training or trial matches.

Forms required for registration:
Players:
  1. Following changes to the Blacktown Association’s registration procedure players will no longer have to fill out a club registration form. Players will, however, still be required to complete a Football Federation Australia (FFA) Registration Form: these forms will be available at the registration desk on the day. We will preprint forms for returning players and ask that the details on these forms be checked & signed on the day. For new players or players with changed details, we will have blank forms available on registration days. Unfortunately as the blank forms are numbered we cannot make these available on our website. Please note that forms for players under the age of 18 must be signed by a parent or guardian in the presence of a club committee member.

  2. Insurance forms. As per previous years we will require a signature for the mandatory Football NSW Accident Insurance form. This must be signed by the player (if 18 or over) or by a parent or guardian (if under 18 years of age). This year's registration will also include an upgraded insurance policy that offers much better coverage for serious injuries. However, it is the player's responsibility to read the supplied insurance document carefully, retain the information & determine whether this coverage is adequate for his or her own personal requirements. Basic loss of income protection is only provided to those who register as a worker (U16 to adult). Minchinbury Jets Soccer Club Inc strongly suggests that those who are employed investigate personal income protection. Please note that the insurance coverage is limited and we suggest that Private Health Insurance is also taken, with a minimum of Ambulance Cover. We also advise that all workers consider their own personal income protection insurance to suit their own requirements.

Coaches & Managers:
  1. Coaches and Managers Application form. This can be downloaded from our website. Copies will also be available at the registration desk on the day.

  2. Prohibited Employment Declaration Form: This form is available at the registration desk on the day. Please note that this form must be signed in the presence of a club committee member.

Player Classifications:

  • Students: Full time students with no employment or engaged in part-time employment (up to and including the age of 19 years). Note: older students may be required to show a student identification card

  • Adult: Employed persons. Unemployed persons over the age of 18 years. Person who normally attend to domestic duties.

Code of Conduct:
As part of our support of the ongoing Blacktown Association "Sport Rage" program, Minchinbury Jets will be asking all of our players, parents, team officials, & club officials to read & sign an appropriate code of conduct when registering. Copies of this will be available on the day and can be downloaded from our website.
For more information on the "Sport Rage" program, please log onto the Blacktown Association website (www.bdsfa.com)

2009 Registration Fees and Weekly Match Fees:
In the current economic climate, Minchinbury Jets have managed to keep most of our registration fees unchanged from 2008, the exceptions being our U16 Workers & U19 – All Age Workers who have both had $5.00 increases for the 2009 season.

Registration Fees cover:
  • Compulsory basic insurance
  • Registration fees to Blacktown & District Soccer Football Association
  • Affiliation and Registration fees to FFA and Football NSW
  • Free player training ball (to be supplied at first training session)

Registration Fees:
Under 6 – Under 8 $75.00
Under 9 $80.00
Under 10 – Under 16 Students $85.00
Under 17 Student $90.00
Under 18 Student $100.00
Under 19 Student $110.00
Under 16 Working $135.00
Under 17 Working $140.00
Under 18 Working $150.00
Under 19 – All Age Working $165.00

Weekly Match Fees:
A weekly match fee of $5.00 will be payable by each player on Game Day. If an Official Referee is appointed to the game, the monies received here are to cover the fees payable. Any balance or should no referee be appointed, the money received is to be passed onto the club to assist with costs such as – ground hire, lights and other necessary equipment.

The match fee is payable every week, whether or not the player takes the field of play on that particular weekend. If you are experiencing difficulties in paying your weekly match fees, please discuss this with your team manager who can then take this up with the club committee. In cases of long-term injury, absence or financial hardship, the executive committee reserves the right to make a ruling on individual player match fee payments.

Please note that players who have outstanding match fees without reason or arrangement for long periods may have their player registration suspended. Players whose match fees are not paid in full by round 18 may be considered as unfinancial by the club and may have their end of year presentation awards withheld.

Uniform:
The Minchinbury Jets Soccer Club uniform can be viewed on registration days. A copy of this is also available on the club website. As the Blacktown & District Soccer Football Association approves our club strip, the uniform cannot be amended.

The club colours are Green, Red & white. Our home strip is predominantly Green with Red & White Trim. Our change strip is White with Green & Red trim.

New players and players requiring new uniforms are required to purchase the home uniform. This consists of shirt ($30.00), shorts ($20.00), and socks ($10.00). Additional shorts & socks can be purchased at the listed prices.

As part of our sponsorship packages we may require team shirts to have sponsors signage added to your shirt. This may be as simple as a sleeve patch of may involve screen-printing of a sponsor’s name on shirts.
The club will cover the cost of the signage. Please note that sponsor’s shirt signage, where applicable, is compulsory for all players in the sponsored team.

Change Strip:
If a clash of colours occurs between our club and another, the club will provide change strip shirts where necessary in accordance with the Blacktown Association rules (current association rules stipulate that the AWAY team must change if a clash of colour occurs). We ask that these shirts be returned to your team manager at the completion of the game so that all shirts can be accounted for.

Home Ground:
Minchinbury Jets Soccer Club Inc is part of the Blacktown & District Soccer Football Association that consists of 26 clubs. The home ground for our club is Minchinbury Reserve, Minchin Drive, Minchinbury.

Club Website:
Keep in touch with what’s happening throughout the year on our club website www.minchinburyjets.com

First Competition Date & Season Draw:
Round 1 of the 2009 season will be held on the weekend of Saturday 28th & Sunday 29th March 2009. A full calendar can be viewed on our club website. Blacktown Association will issue the season draw during the first few weeks of the season. This is available on their website (www.bdsfa.com). Please be aware that as changes may be required during the season it is advisable not to print out this draw as a long term document and to regularly view the draw on the Blacktown website.

Training:
The Coach/Manager of each team will arrange training days and times. Please utilise our practise areas as much as possible and avoid wearing out the goalmouths on our fields wherever possible (your goalkeepers will be eternally grateful). With our club continuing to grow, please be mindful or sharing the available training room fairly.

Trial Matches:
The club will organise trial matches for all teams. Details of these matches will be made available to team managers when confirmed and will be posted on our club website. Please note that due to insurance purposes, all trial matches must be pre-approved by the club, Blacktown Association & Football NSW. If you wish to organise your own trail matches outside of those set down by the club, please contact the Club Secretary, Stephen Bradbury, at least 7 days prior to the trail match. Under no circumstances are trial matches to be played without approval, as they will not be covered by our insurance

Canteen Duty / Rosters:
One of the main fund raising areas of our club is our club canteen. It is also the main hub of our ground during match days. Whilst the committee help to man the canteen, we do have other responsibilities to the club, including having our own children playing with the club.

For this reason we ask that all teams help out in the canteen. During the season we will be issuing canteen rosters to all teams. Based on last year’s numbers, each team should have around 4 or 5 shifts per season. We ask that all teams supply around 4 people to help out for roughly 1 hour. If one parent from every player in every team helps out this would mean that everyone gives up around 2 or 3 hours of their time during the season. So let’s all pitch in to help lighten the load & make our canteen the best in the association!

Club Sponsors:
Minchinbury Jets has a number of valued sponsors that help support our club and help us to be part of the Minchinbury Community. We would like to thank all of our sponsors for their ongoing support and ask that all of our members support these sponsors in the same way that they have supported our club

Once again, the committee would like to welcome you to the 2009 season. If you have any queries on what has been covered in this letter, or any other matter concerning local soccer, our club or our association please feel free to check out our website (www.minchinburyjets.com) or contact either our Club President, Glen Overton, on 0410 430 040 or Club Secretary, Stephen Bradbury on 0419 170 717. We would be happy to hear from you.
